Pass Travel UPDATE October 29, 2014
1) In case you missed it…
The new phone number for the Employee Travel Center (and other UAL departments) is 877-825-3729 From international locations use: 847-825-3729
For website issues or password resets on Flying Together or employeeRES retirees should call the IT service desk outside of normal business hours: 800-255-5801
2) News from the ETC in San Diego and online
RAFA attended the RUAEA Convention earlier in October and it was terrific (fun tours and informative speakers on a variety of topics for retirees). A representative from the Employee Travel Center came to talk and answered Pass Travel questions.
Find out about:
a) Carrying the correct travel documents to avoid deportation
b) How to re-deposit your pending vacation passes
c) Imputed income & how to track it. However the “Pass Travel Report” does not work on a Mac, find a friend with a PC to generate yours.
d) Taxes leaving Belize, Colombia, Honduras, Mexico & Panama must be paid to a United rep at the airport.
e) Buddy pass riders now must pay baggage fees. This does not affect retirees since we don’t have buddy passes; our EF’s still check bags for free.
f) The Enrolled Friends election period for travel in 2015 will be in December. The enrolled friend tool will be found under the Pass Rider link in Employee Services > My Info.
3) Open Enrollment for Healthcare is Nov 3rd-14th
From United Airlines:
2015 Annual Benefits Enrollment FOR RETIREES, November 3 – 14
It’s always important to review your medical options that you have available and make a selection that’s right for you. Only you understand the health care needs that you and your family might have in 2015, so take the time to review your options. Remember, that choosing the right benefits is important. Use the available resources to make decisions about your benefits.
This year, we are going green and we are not mailing enrollment – decision guides to homes. However, you can expect to receive your annual enrollment worksheet in the mail before the enrollment period. (And they have mailed out reminder post cards!) In addition, you will receive a benefit confirmation statement in the mail after the enrollment period. And only if you elect a new medical option for 2015 will you receive a new medical plan ID card.
For details about the 2015 benefits updates, you can:
Review the benefit enrollment – decision guide online. Visit flyingtogether.ual.com > Employee Services > Benefits, under the What’s new section. There you will find the 2015 Decision Guides. On demand print copies will also be available beginning November 3, via phone requests through the United Airlines Benefits Center at 1-800-651-1007, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Central time.
Call the United Airlines Benefits Center beginning Monday, November 3 at 1-800-651-1007, Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central time for assistance.
Remember, there will be a benefit correction period from November 17 through 21 for any final corrections or changes to your benefit options.
